The WHY

The HOW:

We did an extensive research to find the right message!

Here are our findings:

What society is asking for in Youth:

Young competent "leaders" who has practical experience as a part of their academic degree.

That is people who can contribute to innovation, optimisation and growth of the Finnish society in every area.

What students need:
- Practical skills while they study

- Confidence

- Taking more responsibility of their own future.

Our current strategy is not really reaching this message or meeting the need. So we made it a bit more concrete:

Here are our 3 suggestions to a more concrete and relevant message:

1) Gain cross-cultural experience, volunteer abroad with AIESEC.

2) Challenge your comfort zone, volunteer abroad with AIESEC.

3) Apply your knowledge to help, volunteer abroad with AIESEC.

4) DON'T READ THIS if you are already reading it (, and then adding one of the above taglines) - *cudos to HH TL in OGX*

Another feature the poster will have is that in the bottom of the poster there will be some "small-writing" explaining the Global Citizen programme, the duration, the projects/issues and how the whole process is very "safe and affordable."

Moreover the poster will then have the website link, and also a QR code leading to the website.

We will be using the same poster template as Stas (VPCOMM HH) created for the national promotional campaign.

The WHAT:

We will, as stated above use posters! You can find these in the Resource Centre on Podio.

Another thing is that we will produce a video which is highlighting the relevance for students to go abroad now, in the winter.

The Video:

  • Will be made in collaboration with KILROY/ISIC.

  • It will include interviews with a representative from KILROY talking about why it's relevant for youth in Finland to go abroad.

  • An interview with a person who went abroad with the ISIC card and who will share the relevance of having this when you are a student, going abroad.

  • An interview with an AIESEC in Finland representative (most likely will be Nischal), who will be talking about the relevance of GC for youth in Finland.

  • A couple of interviews with EPs from the summer, who will share their point of view on what they gained from going abroad with AIESEC.

  • A couple of interviews with national partner companies, who will share why they would rather employ someone who went abroad and gained a global experience, compared with someone who just has an academic degree.

  • The video will be shot during next week (18th - 24th of November), edited and published.

  • The video is for online use and there will be 3 different videos to variate the promotion.

  • The channels from AIESEC are Facebook and University channels.

  • The Channels from KILROY will be Facebook, University channels and also their media partners.

  • We will also contact national media to see if they can share the videos or cover the recruitment in some way.

WONDERING HOW TO SELL THE ISIC CARD:

KILROY has agreed to come out and help you at your info-stands on how to sell the ISIC cards to students who approach you. You just need to contact Niina Laine from KILROY, at least 1 person in your LC will have her mail. If you cannot find it, please contact Camilla.

TIMELINE LEFT:

Promotion is lasting for the next 2 weeks - and we need to have at least 500 applications for the winter peak in order to make our goal.

This is not a number! This is the amount of experiences that you will give to persons from your city, who will then be able to have better opportunities in their future.

And it also provides Finnish society and your city with responsible leaders who have a global understanding for how to drive positive change.
