While determining the LC structure and project timelines, we should keep in mind AIESEC in Finland, as well as Global exchange peaks, and all the activities should be aligned according to the timeline in order for us to be more efficient and bring better results.
iGCDP

By looking at AIESEC in Finland (bright) and Global (dim) peaks of raising, matching and realizing, we create the timelines of our project cycle.

Our national iGCDP peaks do not match global ones due to the specifics of Global.me project which has been realizing in Spring and Fall, unlike the global summer projects. In this suggested timeline we consider that Finland has a potential to realize iGCDP TNs for different projects three times a year - in Spring, Summer and Fall.

It is optimal for one LC to focus on projects for 2 realization peaks.

Our oGCDP peaks reflect the Global ones rather precisely. However as of now, we can see the raising peak before winter, but no matching or realization peak in winter time. This means our winter projects should be much more focused on raising and matching people who are interested in going abroad in winter, so that we don't miss out on this peak.

By looking at AIESEC in Finland (bright) and Global (dim) peaks of raising, matching and realizing, we create the timelines of our project cycle.

Both Globally and nationally, there are no very clear peaks for Ra, Ma and Re in iGIP. However, the majority of raises happen in the periods of Feb-Apr and Oct-Dec. Therefore, we need to make sure our sales force is absolutely ready for intensive sales during those time periods.

LC Project-based timeline

Here is the timeline we get by combining all the functional areas. Of course, one LC does not have to have project timeline exactly this way, but rather make it according to the functional areas you are focusing on. The only requirement is that your projects timeline reflects the recommended one.

In order for each project to start smoothly when planned, preparation has to start well in advance:

- Historically, we have member recruitment happening in the beginning of each school semester (yellow columns in picture 2). It's a good idea to engage the Team Leaders of upcoming projects in the whole member recruitment process so that they have a say in attracting and selecting members for their projects, thus gaining ownership.

- Before getting busy with the recruitment, Team Leader needs to receive proper Leadership and Project Management knowledge, and have a clear project plan. (orange striped columns in picture 3)

Leadership Summit will happen on November 29-30, 2013, and will consist of 2 parts: Project Management and LEAD

- In order for the proper TL transition, education, and planning to happen on time, Team Leader selection should happen in advance, several weeks before the project  starting date (red column in picture 4). The right expectations should be set with the new team leaders regarding the project starting and ending dates, project focus segments and goals. Also, the current Team Leader should give transition to the new Team Leader in the same functional area, so that the knowledge and experience staying in the organization.
